Love the weather!

The weather has been SO nice lately. Aside from allergies I truly love this time of year. :) I paid the St. Louis ZOO another visit this week. Love that place!!! I feel so blessed to live in a city where the zoo is free! Here are a few of my favorite pics from my trip.

Let's see, in the scrapbooking world, Potato bar is still open. Check out my newest addition!
That's all I have for now. I'm off to watch MORE basket ball with my hubby. I'll be MIA this weekend celebrating my 6th wedding anniversary. Woot!!!
Happy Scrapping!

New Camera + Gorgeous Weather = ZOO Trip!!!

My poor lil point and shoot camera broke last month so I bought a beautiful new Canon Rebel XS! I looooooooove it. I'm a total newbie when it comes to DSLR cameras so I'm super intimidated when I shoot in anything other than Auto. lol. I decided to step outside my comfort zone today while at the St. Louis ZOO. Let's just say I love my camera but I have a loooong way to go with manual settings. lol. I'm glad I have lightroom and photoshop or a lot of these pics would have been trash.
I promise to get back to scrapping soon. Lots of new things to be released at the beginning of March!!!

Don't wanna miss a thing...

So....yeah, it's been a while. I've been busy with the holidays (like pretty much everyone else) and putting the finishing touches on all the wedding stuff (for my sis-in-law). She gets married in a few weeks and I SO can not wait!!! I am very pleased with how the invitations and floral arrangements have turned out. Since she doesn't live in town I'm her go-to girl for pretty much everything. I have a few details left to take care of this week (programs, party favors, finish the bridesmaid and bridal bouquets, and talk to the reception hall and bakery and a few other tiny little details). Then next week my hubby and I are taking a vacation!!!! We're going to visit my grandparents in Florida for a week. I can't wait. He's never been to Florida and I am craving some beach time (even if the water is a little too cool to actually go in). It'll be good to get away from all the wedding stress and the cold weather. I swear it feels like I'm planning my wedding again and that was 6 years ago! lol I sort of jokingly told my MIL today that my sisters-in-law better hope these marriages stick (I did a lot of the stuff for my other SIL too) because if they don't they better elope next time. Anyway, with all this wedding craziness I haven't had much time for scrapping or designing lately. I did, however, scrap a page the other day. I'm pleased with how it turned out, especially since I haven't scrapped in ages. I used Argentic - by Karine Designs the font is by Darcy Baldwin and the lyrics are from one of my favorite Aerosmith songs and the photo is by my brother-in-law Alex Micka. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Happy Scrapping!

A Lil Bit About Me

So, Fantacy had this posted on her blog and challenged those of us that love her to post with our own answers. :)

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Depends on the gift that needs to be wrapped. If it's for kids I ALWAYS use the paper. More fun that way.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial. I do NOT have the patience to deal with needles everywhere.

3. When do you put up the tree? Typically the day after Thanksgiving. Or the weekend before if I'm the one hosting Thanksgiving. :)

4. When do you take the tree down? Some time in January.

5. Do you like eggnog? I will occasionally drink it. Not my fave.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Oh boy, there were so many great presents. One of the gifts that I treasure the most is a queen size pink afghan that my Great Grandma made for me when I was 8 or 9.

7. Hardest person to buy for? everyone, ok, my hubby is probably the hardest but I have probs buying for everyone.

8. Easiest person to buy for? my Godchild Kathleen

9. Do you have a nativity scene? several

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? mail when I send them out. I haven't even given them much thought this year. I've been so busy lately.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Hmmmm......well a certain someone gets me some of the strangest presents every year. let's just leave it at that. lol

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

13 When do you start shopping for Christmas? typically after Thanksgiving unless I find something that I really want to buy before that.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? no, don't think so.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? It changes from year to year. Last year it was Ron's lobster and crab stuffed mushrooms. OMG those were amazing!!!

16. Lights on the tree? white

17. Favorite Christmas song? I love The Lord's Prayer and Oh Holy Night

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? The only time we've stayed home were the years we lived in Oklahoma and Ohio. I missed the hustle and bustle and family. :(

19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? of course

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? depends on the year. Right now it's a star

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Well, we have 5 places to go for Christmas so we open on christmas eve and christmas day.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? ice, too many people in the stores, people forgetting how to act like normal, rational human beings.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I have a very eclectic tree.

24. Favorite thing for Christmas dinner? I love me some Chicken n Dumplings. Oh and my all time fave is Turkey Dinner. mmmmmmm

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Honestly, just for everyone to be happy and healthy. I'm not one that makes a big deal about getting gifts. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate them. I just think that sometimes that gets in the way of what the holiday is truly about.

26. Who is most likely to respond to this? Not sure. I'd love them to let me know if they do.

27. Who is least likely to respond: People that are too busy to fill it out.

Let me know if you play along so I can check out your answers.
